After Speedy made a same day collection in Kingston Upon Thames, he delivered some goods into Richmond. Richmond is a lovely riverside town located in southwest London. The area now known as Richmond was formerly part of Shene. Richmond is home to several parks and open spaces, including the beautiful Richmond Park. The park is the largest of London’s Royal Parks and was created by Charles I in 1634 as a deer park.
Richmond has two theatres, the Richmond Theatre and the Orange Tree Theatre. Both theatres provide a lovely collection of plays and musicals. There are many shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy whilst visiting and plenty of lovely walks around town. Richmond has featured in a number of films and TV series, including the Royal Ballet School in Richmond Park featuring in the film Billy Elliot.
Every Saturday 11am to 3pm in Heron Square, you’ll find the Richmond Farmers Market.
Richmond is twinned with Richmond, Virginia, USA, since 1980, with Konstanz in Germany since 1983 and with Fontainebleau in France since 1977.
