Speedy Travels to a more scenic part of the UK this week, Babbacombe a district of Torquay.
This lovely little village is home to a model village, Babbacombe theatre and the beautiful Babbacombe downs. Referred to as ‘Torbay’s jewel in the crown’ this village offers stunning coastal views.
Babbacombe model village, which opened in 1963 is a great local tourist attractions set in 4 acres of award winning gardens. We highly recommend a visit, you can plan your day by visiting the model village website.
Just two miles away sits the seaside town Torquay, with a population of 65,245. Torquay was the home of the writer Agatha Christie, who was born in the town and lived there for several years. Torquary lies 18 miles south of the county town of Exeter and is home to two railway stations.
Torquay Market, built in 1852 provides an indoor location for people to shop, open Monday till Saturday 9am – 5pm.
